A 100Ah lithium battery is the sensible center of a 12-volt trolling setup, and the ECO-WORTHY is the one we reach for first because it is easy to move and easy to live with. At 23.2 pounds in a Group 24 case, it is light enough for one person to lift into a boat or a battery box, and the M8 terminals give you a solid connection without much fuss. The 100A BMS and low-temperature cutoff are the practical details that matter on a cold morning: the battery protects itself from charging below freezing, which is more than a plain lead-acid battery does.
What sold us on this one as the default is the combination of capacity and monitoring. Bluetooth 5.1 lets you check voltage, current, and remaining capacity from your phone, so you can see how hard the motor is pulling before you head in. The 100Ah capacity is a good match for a 12-volt motor on a bass boat, jon boat, or larger kayak, and the Group 24 footprint drops into many standard trays and boxes. We did notice that the app becomes part of your routine; if you prefer a battery with no phone involved, this is not that.
The catch is charging. You need a lithium-compatible charger or a solar controller set to LiFePO4, not the old lead-acid charger that came with a previous boat. Once you factor that in, the ECO-WORTHY is the least fussy way we have found to get modern lithium power into a trolling setup.
Pros
- Light 23.2-pound Group 24 case
- Bluetooth 5.1 monitoring
- Low-temperature charging cutoff
- 100Ah capacity with 100A BMS
Cons
- Requires a lithium-compatible charger
We recommend the ECO-WORTHY 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 as the default trolling battery because it pairs useful runtime with easy carrying, low-temp protection, and app monitoring.
